Nikita Costiuc writes fiction with humor, heart, and a bit of an edge. His stories follow traditional arcs, with clear beginnings, middles, and endings, and feature unforgettable characters. Nikita also runs Curated by Costiuc, a monthly Substack where he shares short stories similar to the ones he writes.
His work has appeared in English Language Arts materials used by national tutoring organizations like Huntington Learning Center, and he recently won second place in The Anansi Archive Winter 2024–2025 Flash Fiction Competition.
As the son of Eastern European immigrants, he speaks both English and Russian and often writes about identity, culture, and what it means to belong. When he’s not writing, he tutors students in English and history.
He lives in Spokane, Washington, with his wife, Daria, and their yellow lab, Arya. In addition to storytelling, he loves burgers, American football, and long walks.
