Nikita Costiuc writes character-driven, emotionally rich stories with a bit of an edge. His fiction has appeared in English Language Arts materials used by national tutoring organizations like Huntington Learning Center, and he recently won second place in The Anansi Archive Winter 2024–2025 Flash Fiction Competition.
Nikita also curates Curated by Costiuc, a monthly Substack of short fiction with strong voices and compelling characters.
The son of Eastern European immigrants, Nikita speaks both English and Russian, and his stories often explore identity and culture. When he’s not writing, he tutors students in English and history.
He lives with his wife, Daria, and their yellow lab, Arya, in Spokane, WA. In addition to storytelling, he loves burgers, American football, and long walks.
